Full Day: Gondar – Simien Mountains – Back to Gondar
Your adventure begins with a 100km drive from Gondar to Debark, the gateway to Simien Mountains National Park, taking about 1.5 hours. After registering at the park office, you’ll drive another 22km into the park’s main exploration area. Here, breathtaking views greet you across rugged terrain, home to unique plants and birds. You’ll see troops of Gelada monkeys, known for their sociable nature and striking “bleeding heart” chests. Continuing to Sankaber, you’ll reach the camp at 3,250 meters altitude. From there, you will trek down to the Jinbar Waterfall on a 2-hour hike. The magnificent falls and a picnic in this serene spot provide perfect rejuvenation before the drive back to Gondar, returning with cherished memories of Ethiopia’s natural beauty.
